You can also sand down your paneling till it is smooth and then put wallpaper over it. It just depends on the look you are going for.
The second tip is the outside. If you want to update your paint on the outside of your mobile home try pressure washing it. This will help get off all the grime and dirt that has settled on the paint over the years. When choosing paint you will want to make sure that you pick an exterior paint that is going to be able to handle the weather elements. You may also want to stay away from darker colors so you don't get fading. You will also want to make sure that you find out what type of base coat is already on the exterior of your mobile home so that you can buy a paint that is compatible. If you get a paint that is not compatible you run the risk of your paint not sticking and peeling off because of it.
The third tip is roof. Depending on where you live will depend on the roofing you will want. A lot of people do not do shingles on mobile home roofs because they end up blowing off. Instead they use roof coating that is specifically for mobile homes. This is something that does not need much upkeep besides having to be done once a year.

The reason why you want to know what materials your mobile home has in it is so that you don't do something like paint the walls and have to sand down all of your walls and repaint them because the paint wasn't compatible with the paint that was already on there.
