Inexpensive bathroom remodels

If you're thinking of selling your house or you just want to change the way your house looks with a good investment then look no further than your bathroom. If you want to get your money back and then some on remodeling your home then remodeling a bathroom can be the ticket. It doesn't have to break the budget though. Inexpensive bathroom remodels are totally doable with a few inside tips. Here are some ways to remodel a bathroom without breaking your budget.
Tip #1: Painting
Take a good look at your walls. If they are sound and sturdy then a slightly new look may be just what you're looking for. A new coat of paint can change the look of any room and give it the new look you're looking for. If you've got tile or porcelain in your bathroom you can buy porcelain paint at any home center for about $20. You are somewhat limited with colors as most come in white or off white but it sure makes a difference in how a pink 70's style bathroom may look before and how a white bathroom will look after. Painting your walls is easy and doesn't take a whole lot of time. You'll be surprised at what paint does to a room and this won't break your budget.
You don't have to just paint your walls to make a big change. If you have a vanity that is still in working condition then try painting it as well. You can either paint right over the wood with a color of your choice, or you can strip the wood and stain it a lighter or darker color. Updating your vanity can drastically change the appearance of your bathroom without spending a ton of money to do it.
Tip #2: Fixtures
Fixtures are another easy thing to change in your bathroom without spending your entire budget. You can buy some nice new fixtures for the sink and bathtub, and new light fixtures that are inexpensive from any home center like Lowe's or Home Depot. You can hand pick them yourself and spend as much or as little as you want. The nice part about buying new fixtures from a home center is that if you have absolutely no experience taking old one off and putting new ones back on, employee specialists can help and show you how to do it.
Tip #3: Flooring
In the olden days it used to be much harder to change your flooring. There weren't very many options available for remodels. Today however things have changed somewhat and it is much easier to find materials to redo a floor. If you are experience with tile, you might want to consider laying tile on your bathroom floor. They are relatively inexpensive and if you do the work yourself you don't have to pay for any labor. Tile is very popular and is a great way to change the look of an old floor. If tile is not an option however you can always lay linoleum. You can buy it in sheets or lay the linoleum squares. Both are inexpensive and easy to do. Changing the look of your floor can make a big difference.
The best way to stick with an inexpensive bathroom remodel is to do most, if not all of the work yourself. Since bathrooms are smaller than most of the other rooms in the house they are relatively easy to remodel. Hopefully these simple tips will help get you started on your way to a new look for your bathroom.
