Family and media rooms are areas of the home that are incredibly popular now but were not very common years back. If either of these two rooms are part of your remodeling plans, you will likely see a return on your investment. Granted, that return may not be the same as a return on a freshly remodeled kitchen, but the addition of a family or media room could definitely help to tip the scale to your side. Just make sure that you define these areas in your house so that they clearly serve the purpose for which they were created.

If resale is on your mind, the best thing that you can do when making your remodeling plans is to appeal to the widest audience possible. By keeping your design and decorative choices neutral, you minimize the possibility of turning off a potential buyer and loosing offers on the home.

Conveniences

We live in a time of conveniences. During your remodel it is likely that you will be making some changes that will add to the conveniences and comforts of your home. Little things like mounted microwaves, warming drawers, dimmers, etc. are all great additions that not only have wide appeal but that make your home special. If it is in the budget, you might want to look into adding in those little details. A remodel job is the perfect opportunity to add in small details that would be much more difficult to include without needing construction.
