Advantages to doing the remodel yourself
Hiring someone else to do the work for you will generally make it easier on you, but there are several advantages to doing the work yourself.

• You don't have to worry about hiring someone you don't trust and aren't sure will finish the job. It's always a gamble when you hire out, with whether or not the work will end up being too much and they bail out on you.


• It's definitely cheaper for you if you do the work yourself. You can spend more money on the things you really want and less on your contractor or architect.


• Personality conflicts can arise between you and those you hire and can cause problems in finishing the job.


• You can run at your own pace and work when you can. Sometimes people you hire will work either slower or faster than you can go.
