What to do if you fail an HVAC inspection
Do you need to have an HVAC inspection for your business? An HVAC inspection is an inspection to make sure that your air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems are working properly within your home or office. It is very important that you make sure that you pass an HVAC inspection - there are a lot of health problems, allergies, and diseases that can be caused by poor ventilation systems. So, if you fail an HVAC inspection, you will want to fix your ventilation problems right away! Here are some things that you can do if you fail an HVAC inspection:
1. Follow the advice given by the inspector: The first thing that you should do if you fail an HVAC inspection is to follow all of the advice given by your HVAC inspector. There obviously are specific reasons why you have failed your HVAC inspection, and your inspector can point you exactly to what kinds of problems need to be fixed within your ventilation systems. Look for specific reasons listed in your inspection report which will contain things that you can do, so that you can pass your HVAC inspection next time!
2. Look for cleanliness: Another thing that you can do if you fail an HVAC inspection is to look for cleanliness when inspecting your ventilation system. Make sure that the coils, blower blades, and surfaces of your ventilation systems are visibly clean. Is the fiberglass material clean and in good condition? What about the filters? Is there any pollen, dust, or soot that is clogging up your filter? You want to make sure that your filters are clean and are regularly replaced. Remember, if there is a machine part, filter, or system that is too dirty to be cleaned well, then you might want to replace those parts with clean, new parts.
3. Replace systems, if necessary: Of course, you will want to avoid having to replace your ventilation systems, but sometimes it is necessary. Some ventilation systems are so old and dirty that there is nothing you really can do beyond replacing the system altogether. Your HVAC inspector will probably let you know if he or she feels like the whole system needs to be replaced. If this is the case, you may have to spend a lot of money for replacement, but remember, the cost is really worth it! Replacing an inefficient ventilation system with a new ventilation system can cut your electric bill as much as 50%!
Once you have passed an HVAC inspection, you will want to make sure that you continue to take good care of your ventilation systems. For example, do not place your air conditioner in a window that is in the full sun - the air conditioner will have to work twice as hard to cool down while it's roasting in the heat! In addition, make sure that you are constantly changing the necessary filters, hoses, machine parts, etc. that need regular attention. It is recommended that you change your filter at least twice during the summer months. Also, you should keep leaves, storage, or grass at least two feet away from any of your ventilation outside units. Finally, you should clean the coils of your ventilation units with water once a month, so that your ventilation system can `breathe' easier. If you have an installed ventilation system, make sure that professionals come regularly to clean the vents and systems! If you take good care of your ventilation systems, then you will never have a problem with passing an HVAC inspection again! Best of luck passing your HVAC inspection this time around!
